Sketchy Details of Infinity EV 2013

Just as the world is talking about the launch of Nissan’s electric Leaf, and weighing the benefits of zero emission against the use of fossil fuel for engines, Infiniti has finally let another cat out of the bag. At a recent event, Senior VP of Infiniti Andy Palmer unveiled the first sketches of Infiniti’s new EV 2013.

From what can be seen, the car looks sleek and has a stylish design. Going by what the company promises, the style is also supported by some good performance, which we hope will hold true considering many electric vehicles have, thus far, not been able to quite get there.

The EV, which is all set to storm the market in 2013 has a capacity for five, though the sketch has been shown to give it a very spacious look. This is a deliberate move by Nissan which is looking to invest heavily in the electric vehicle market, which they believe is really where the future of automobiles is.

Given the kind of forecasts we are seeing in this segment, this does seem like a clever move by the company. However, with the Leaf still to make its mark on the roads and the feedback not yet ringing in, it is a little early, and risky to say that these cars are here to stay. To be able to change the dynamics of this market, not only will the performance be critical, but the pricing is also extremely crucial. If Infiniti can sway the market this time around is yet to be seen.
